Newbuild Dwellings, nr Stansted, Essex

The site, on the outskirts of Stansted, is located outside of the development framework boundary and sits within the countryside protection zone of Stansted airport. A sensitive approach was required to maximise the potential of the site. We worked closely with the local authority throughout after receiving positive comments at planning pre-application stage. We achieved an outline approval for 5 new barn style dwellings after engaging the ‘tilted balance’ in the NPPF. FAL Architects collaborated with ecological and acoustic specialists to enable positive consultations with the local authority throughout the planning process.
